Delivery and returns: check before you pay
Published October 24, 2026
Delivery time, the 14-day right of withdrawal and return costs: the points to check before confirming an online order.
A good discount can be cancelled out by delivery fees or a complicated return. Five points to check before confirming an online order.
The five points
- The total price, delivery and taxes included, rather than the price displayed first.
- The stated delivery time: unless agreed otherwise, the seller must deliver within 30 days of the order at the latest.
- The right of withdrawal: 14 days from receipt for most distance purchases, with exceptions (personalised goods, perishables and so on).
- Who pays for the return: if the seller has not said otherwise, it is you, which is why reading the terms before buying matters.
- Who sells and ships: on a marketplace, the terms depend on the seller, not only the site.
Keep the order confirmation and the parcel tracking. In a dispute, they serve as evidence.
